The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Florida Department of Health (FDOH), and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS); along with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) are pleased to present the draft agenda for the 2024 Southeast Retail Food Protection Seminar. “Phone-A-Fed”

The Phone-A-Fed survey is an opportunity to ask your burning food questions to the FDA Retail Specialists and have them ANSWERED LIVE during the Seminar!  Questions can be about the Food Code, a Food Code interpretation, or any food topic that you would like a federal perspective on.

Seminar Registration

Conference registration is NOW OPEN, and is being offered through through AFDOSS membership platform, Wild Apricot. To register for the Seminar, please click this link – REGISTER HERE.

Conference registration is $250. You can pay your registration online through Wild Apricot. To pay by check, please make your check payable to AFDOSS and mailed to this address:

Hotel & Transportation

The 2024 Southeastern Retail Food Protection Seminar is in Jacksonville, Florida, at The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront. For Seminar attendees, the seminar’s negotiated room rate is $139.00. Please note, FDA staff have a separate room block for their use. Please contact the AFDOSS Treasurer for additional information.

Parking information

The seminar organizers negotiated a discounted rate of $10/day for self-parking. The hotel also has valet parking available for $26/day.

The seminar will have complimentary Wi-Fi for guestrooms and in the meeting room.

transportation

The hotel does not provide shuttle service to Jacksonville International Airport. Uber and Lyft services are available.

Continuing Education

Participation at the Retail Food Protection Seminar is required for FDA Standardized individuals.

AFDOSS applied for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) through NEHA. We are pleased to announce that the Retail Food Protection Seminar has been approved for up to 15 contact hours of continuing education with NEHA. The Continuing Education Completion Record form used to claim CEUs will be made available for seminar attendees to pick up at the registration table. This form must be submitted to NEHA prior to the course expiration date of 10/25/2025.
